About

The Documentary Center at the Center for Innovative Media sponsors a wide-range of programs devoted to documentary film. Our centerpiece educational offering is the annual six-month Institute for Documentary Filmmaking that runs from January through June.

We also offer specialty programs such as our prestigious International Emerging Filmmakers Fellowship and our custom Global Digital Media Workshops. Further, Documentary comes to DC audiences through our Center Screen documentary showcase, and through our collaborations with partner organizations such as Docs in Progress and Women in Film and Video. Finally, you can see Documentary Center produced award-winning films across all platforms at home and abroad.
